42 Foot Frisco Flat Car

Our first Texas Western "Club Car" offering is a 42 foot Frisco Flat Car from Red Caboose and Intermountain.

The Texas Western’s first custom built car is a 42' Saint Louis and San Francisco (Frisco) flat car built by Red Caboose and Intermountain. The cars are available as "ready to run" or as kits, and feature:

 - 1950's era yellow paint with black lettering,
 - Kadee #5 couplers,
 - Accurail Bettendorf trucks, and
 - Intermountain metal wheel sets.

The car is available in four road numbers: 95523, 95644, 95702, and 100008.  Kits decorated with lettering and Red Caboose trucks are available.  Laser cut wooden decks are available as a separate purchase.

The Frisco bought 500 cars numbered 95300 – 95799. They were similar in design to the USRA standard and were built by General American in 1928. Although, originally painted box car red, the cars were repainted yellow beginning in the 1950's. The cars were used to transport regular flat car loads including steel ingots, quarried stone, and maintenance of way support.
